New Windows Update Service to Be Rolled Out Starting on 2/9
Starting on Monday, February 9, Information Technology Services will begin rolling out a new service to more effectively managethe software update process for your Temple-managed Windows computer. The service, called Windows Update for Business (WUfB), will also enable you to:
receive automatic updatesthat Temple pushes out to your Windows computer, even when you areoff-campus, and
control the timing of when the updates will be installed.
What software will be updated by this service?
Microsoft Windows build updates
Monthly Windows cumulative security patches
Windows driver and firmware updates
What should I expect to see from this new service? When there are pending Windows updates, pop-up notices will begin prompting you to restart your computer. As long as you have not yet reached the stated deadline, you can also choose a time for when you want the update to occur.
If you missed seeing the pop-up notices, you can click the Windows Update status icon on the system tray. Then click the Restart now button or the drop-down next to it to choose a time.

ACTION REQUIRED: Update your Duo Mobile app by February 20
Duo Security periodically retires older versions of its app. To help ensure uninterrupted access to Temple University systems, please take a moment to update the Duo Mobile app on your device to version 4.85.0 or higher by Friday, February 20.
Keeping the app up-to-date helps avoid potential interruptions when signing in. Devices running older versions will experience authentication issues.
Why is this necessary? As part of Duo Security’s commitment to strong security and improved functionality, older app versions are eventually retired. When this occurs, authentication prompts will no longer be delivered, which can prevent access to Temple systems. Updating now helps ensure a smooth and secure login experience.
If you have automatic app updates enabled, your device may already have the latest version. However, please follow the steps below to verify your Duo Mobile version and ensure you’re prepared.
To identify your current version of the Duo Mobile App:
Launch Duo Mobile app on your mobile device.
Tap the three-line menu icon on the upper-left corner of the screen.
The app version will be displayed at the bottom of the menu.
To update the Duo Mobile App:
iPhone
Open the App Store.
Tap your profile icon and scroll down to find the app in the pending updates list.
Tap Update next to Duo Mobile. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password or use your Face ID/Touch ID.
If you do not see the update button, check the current version of the app by following the instructions above. If the app is not a supported version (4.85.0 or later), your phone will likely require an OS update before you proceed to update the app.
Android
Open the Play Store.
Tap your profile icon on the upper right corner of the screen.
Tap Manage apps & device. Then tap Manage at the top of the screen.
Find Duo Mobile in the list of apps, then tap the Duo icon on the left.
